Saving A Marriage After Lies

Marriage appears wonderfully endearing to the single man or woman who has by no means married, and perhaps to the divorced person who hankers for anything to arrest their longing for companionship or sexual release, but marriage for virtually all of us is really a challenging work at occasions. (And I can say this even as a representative of my wife!). We carry so much of ourselves into our marriages – which is both a excellent and a bad thing.

We bring in expectations of getting ‘met’ by our partners: that they will satisfy us sexually, not invest also a lot funds, not look for to management us, that they will want to devote time with us. We also bring in expectations of what our partners should carry to us: their virtues of diligence and moderation and sanctity and kindness – to identify just 4. We are disappointed when they don’t measure up to our previously unconscious expectations – that have now turn out to be aware due to our encroaching annoyance.

One of the most common misconceptions in marriages today is that fighting is a sign of an unhealthy relationship

Relationship Problems Emotional Abuse

All of those are great questions, but ones that can’t be answered easily. However, if you wait to marry until you know each other better you can avoid a divorce. Likewise, you and your spouse each have a “love tank”, and when it is empty, the marriage stops performing. It is therefore imperative to be sure your spouse’s love tank is always full. Keep the romance alive.

I like to say that character is the “raw” self without the façade and the defense mechanisms we use to protect ourselves. Have you heard the statement: “We never though this person would do this?”.

Too many spouses in a marriage demand their rights. And when these rights are not given, they get angry and continue to demand to have things their own way. Here is what I advise couples in general.

Another obstacle to counseling success is when one of the spouses has some sort of a drug or alcohol problem, and is unwilling to change. In fact, a general unwillingness to accept any responsibility for problems in the relationship will make it very difficult for a counselor to help.
